Though I spent a large portion of my formative years growing up in small town Canada, I was always fortunate to be immersed in a tapestry of contrasting spheres, ones I am biologically connected to and ones that I grew to connect with and collect pieces of myself from. Over the course of my thirty some odd years on this planet, I've lived in more than 10 countries that span 5 continents. Thanks to my devoted parents, from my birth, it was every bit as important for my brother and I to travel, explore, and communicate our experiences in whatever means possible, just as it was to find rootedness and stability in our surrounding community.
The photographs you will find here, are a direct extension of how I absorb the stage around me and the channels I choose to explore. This spectrum spans the (seemingly) mundane all the way to the extraordinary- through it all, I am relishing in the details, nuances and idiosyncrasies while stepping into an entranced and enchanted awe at the 'bigger picture' of it all. Every photo I have enjoyed taking, developed an affinity with and that has brought me a sense of pride, is one that I see myself in. And as my geographical compass continues to be dizzied, I have come to realize it isn't by accident that my career in International Development, my photography and the paths I choose to navigate in my life, are driven by a single through line: an unwavering passion for places, people, pieces and the infinite palettes in them that stir me.
Today, I find myself back in Canada after almost a decade and a half away. Where I continue to document this serendipitous and dichotomous journey through my constant companion of 25+ years. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoy looking through this window onto the world with me.
A jusqu'à la lune et retour.
